Non-alcoholic alternatives for your work party

Are you celebrating a coworker’s special day?  Are you celebrating the five-year anniversary of start-up?  Your coworkers are probably going to want something to drink, and luckily for you, there are some great non-alcoholic alternatives.  These will allow for a memorable experience with little embarrassment (don’t be Monday’s story).

Some beverages to enjoy

Need some ideas about great drinks to serve your co-workers or employees? Here are a couple of fun smoothie options. You can still have a great time, serve something other than water and Coke, but still maintain your commitment to keeping your office drug and alcohol-free.

Alcohol-Free-Beverages

1.  The Grape-Lemon-Pineapple Smoothie (source)

1 cup grapes
1/4 of a peeled lemon
1/2 of a peeled pineapple
ice
Mix ingredients in a blender.
2.  Peachy Yogurt Cooler (source)
1/2 cup milk
6 oz peach yogurt
1 pealed peach, cut into chunks
sprinkle of ground nutmeg
Place milk, yogurt and peach in the blender. Cover and blend about 30 seconds or until smooth. Sprinkle with nutmeg.

Why stay alcohol-free?

The temptation might creep in to serve some wine or beer at your party. Many offices seem to enjoy serving alcohol at social functions, why shouldn’t you join in? Well, we recommend taking a lesson from Kiewit, a construction company who was working on a bridge project and got busted. Not only were employees drinking on the job violating the company’s alcohol policy – but they were also violating the Department of Transportation’s guidelines, too.  While it might seem harmless to you, opening the door of allowing alcohol in the workplace is a bad idea. If you fall under DOT or any other government regulations, it’s not allowed. And even if you don’t, based on the stories we’ve seen and heard, it’s just a good idea to avoid alcohol in the workplace all together.

Those sound like great drinks. Keeping alcohol out of the work place can prevent a lot of problems.

What a great idea, many people get bored of soda and water. This could be fun but prevent any problems from alcohol.
